September 2006 - Bob Rosand

I apologize to everyone on dial-up connections. I received so many great photographs that I just didn’t have the heart to not post them all. Sixty two pictures to follow!

September 16, 2006 found the club treated to an incredible day long demo by Bob and Susan Rosand.

But first, President Peter McCrea makes a few announcements about some new stuff for the club.

And while he was doing that, Bob and Susan made plans to subdivide Erskine’s shop; as they’d already decided they kinda like it up here

The doughnuts were fresh and the coffee was hot; so the early morning cobwebs would soon be gone.

The club’s most recent acquisition is a new TV monitor. Finally the TV image is bigger than the real life image.

Speaking for the folks in the back row

“Thanks!”

Bob’s a lefty, and every once in a while he’d come around to the back side of the lathe to allow him to make a particular cut a bit more safely. I think he just wanted to show off his new Maine tee shirt

Here’s one of Bob’s newer pieces. it’s about six inches in diameter.

A close up.

And a bowl that really tells a story!

Here we see Bob getting started on one of his acorn ornaments.

Getting set to
part it off

rosand 2006 27

I guess this is what makes it one of his “signature pieces”

rosand 2006 28

Damon Harmon was among the first to pay his dues for the coming year. His prize was a new membership card

rosand 2006 38

Here’s a “multiaxis” Ring Holder that Bob turned especially for Mac Ray

rosand 2006 39

Susan to Peter McCrea:

“I can't believe that Hoyt guy just stuck his finger in my wet paint!”

rosand 2006 44

Phil Brown looks happy. I wonder if Burt excused him from having to pay his dues this year?
