Michael mounted the bandsawn blank for his multi-axis ladle and then talked us through what would be happening next.

He’s still talking us through it.

Now we’ve switched to a ball that he turned - single axis this time. He really fussed to get it just right by eyeballing it.
He said that your eye is actually more accurate for these things than a template.

Moving right along - now he’s turning a small simple vessel.

And here’s yet another one. It’s mounted in a jam chuck made from a solid chunk of maple.

Here’s a shot taken from the Vulture’s Row Cam

Taking a light cut.

Here’s still another form he turned. This shot shows a medium cut.

And here’s a cut that’s just a bit more aggressive.

Here we see Michael turning the early stage of his trademark box.

Some “adjustments” are made at the bandsaw.

Michael performs some instant magic with yellow glue and water.

Jeez, I hope I didn’t confuse these guys with my instant glue trick.

Nope, I guess not. They looked the same earlier this morning.

This might look like a regular Show and Tell; but it’s actually all Michael’s work. There was some great stuff to admire and even some to take home.
To those of you that brought one of his tools home with you - please let the rest of us know how they were to turn with.

The piece on the right is what he made for us. And when it’s all done, it will look like the one on the left.

His ladle - before and after

And here’s a variation on that same “box”. Wow!

A most alluring lure.
And another market to tap.

A beaded ladle turned on multiple axis/axes/axi?
You know what I mean

Multi axis technique demo piece.

Multi axis copper leafed and pyrographied ladle.

Michael’s tools with his favored grinds.

Have I mentioned yet that Michael loves color?

No picture will do justice to this piece. It was astounding!
