So. Who is thisDave Lancaster guy, and has he ever demo’d before?
Obviously. He has.
This time, he brought in a lump of (not-quite-green) maple to work with.
He’d already sawed it round (to save wear and tear) and proceeded to mount it on a simple screw chuck.
He then began toshape the exterior.
And it didn’t take long before the Erskine shop was once again spiffied up, Lancaster Style.
Bob Joy’s smilesure seems infectious.

Dave has now reversed the piece, mounted it in a four jawed chuck, and begun to core out a smaller chunkfor another bowl.
The larger piece was then mounted on a vacuum chuck and he began to finish the interior.

Dave’s all done and answers a few questions from the assemlage.
That’s a 24” walnut core that he worked onearlier in the day.
It was then time tofocus our attention on the Show & Tell portionof the evening.
