President Irving’s
Crash of 2004:

Notice that the staging is constructed on a slight slope, hence the 2x6 under the legs of the sawhorse.

Traveling upward, notice that the legs are attached with one of those $1 cheap tin brackets, not the ruggedest brackets, I might add.

So we nailed the plank on which the pump jack sits to the sawhorse, and nailed the pump jack 2x4s to the plank. That will keep the pump jack in place. After all, we used 16 penny nails, the big ones.

Looking at it now, and knowing that it collapsed, I can see that this is a pretty stupid way to set up staging. What were we thinking?

Looking at the after picture, its obvious that the back legs of the sawhorse folded up under the sawhorse, causing the crash. Luckily, no one was hurt.
