Matthew Hill from Oklahoma City stopped by for a day-long visit to demonstrate his most unique boxes.

He began by rounding up a chunk of cherry into a cylinder.

And then he parted off the top with a hacksaw so as to reduce waste and keep the grain alignment as closely matched-up as possible.

Meanwhile Chris Eldridge and
Phil Brown plotted a raid
on the doughnut stash.

Here we see Matthew forming the interior of the top.

And now he’s getting the bottom portion turned to match it so that the two pieces mate perfectly.

Meanwhile the Rappaport and Shepherd Suspender Squad plot a raid on the Eldridge and Brown raid.

Failing that, he prestidigitates a new supply for Gary & Amanda Swinton and Clem Sledge. Phil Brown appears to be just out of earshot

In the afternoon, Matthew took us through the steps involved in applying dye with exacting results.

And here he does his best G.W. Bush impression while taping off a piece prior to the dyeing process....

Here, he make a point about the pointy legs on his boxes.

Watch where you put them fingers...

Thanks, Matthew. It was fun
and highly informative.
