My display at a show during Christmas 2005 at the High Street gallery in Belfast.
Note the carved legs on the poplar bowl. Decided to try that technique after the Michael Hosaluk workshop.
Here’s a burl I turned from a wonderful chunk of cherry.
Styled after an old Greek urn.
Finished with Urethane oil. 12 “ high by 5” wide
And here’s another cherry burl.
Quite a challenge to keep this one from blowing up!
7” tall by 9” wide.
Finished with Danish oil and carnauba wax.
More cherry. This one came from a crotch.
15” wide by 6” tall.
Here’s a covered ash pot I did a while back.
Handle carved and mortised from walnut Loved the movement of the grain.
8” high by 5” wide
Finished with Danish Oil.

Had a logger friend give me a 20” poplar log that was 36” wide and full of highly figured and stained wood.
Turned quite a few large bowls from this. 18” wide x 6” tall.
Finished with Carnauba Wax
A nice deep bowl turned from spruce.
Bought a few large burls from a deceased turner’s collection.
This was one of two I turned from this magnificent Spruce Burl.
18” deep x 10” high.
Finished with urethane oil
Here’s a walnut & birch cabinet I designed for a flat-screen TV.
My wife said I could put it in the living room as long as I hid it from view.
I turned the handle pegs from walnut and inserted apple twigs for the handles.
28” high x 24” wide x 7” deep.
Finished with Danish Oil & urethane oil.
