Al Mather

Our town, Machias, Maine was holding it's 2nd annual Maragretta Day's in celebration of the first Naval Battle of the revolutionary war in which union forces from the Machias area captured the British Ship Maragretta.

Some of us tried to dress and act as if we lived back in the revolutionary era, thus the period clothes and the “new” lathe. A number of people stopped to watch the lathe work, or was it watch me work, and many tried their hand at it as well.
